Spearheading the investigations are often librarians, retirees, chefs, or neighbours, rather than professional police officers. Not too much gore!! Luckily, Australian authors are on the mark.
Penny Tangey, Kate Solly, and A.M. Stuart will be exploring the joys (and challenges) of cosy crime with Alison Goodman, the multi-award-winning novelist and New York Times best-seller.
Penny Tangey’s first adult novel, What Rhymes with Murder (Summit Books Australia), starts with exhausted new mother Frida attending a Baby Rhyme Time session at East Melbourne Library when a piercing scream is heard, followed by the thump of a body. Before long, Frida finds herself part of an unlikely group of sleuths investigating the murder.
Penny Tangey is a librarian and mother living in East Melbourne. Penny has worked as a researcher for TV quiz shows Hard Quiz and The Chase, but she’s still terrible at trivia. She’s published a number of children’s books with UQP, one of which, As Fast as I Can (2020), won a Queensland Literary Award and the Readings…
