Thursday bookings are now open for Heritage SA's Traditional Timber Framing Workshop at the Old Adelaide Gaol!
This is an additional one-day workshop being offered due to strong demand and is separate from the workshop scheduled for Friday 4 September 2026.
The Department for Environment and Water: Heritage SA, the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism (INTBAU) and the City of Adelaide will be hosting Peter Harwood at the Old Adelaide Gaol for a one-day timber framing workshop focusing on the crafting of a mortise and tenon joint. The workshop will cover:
The session will be inclusive of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on the day (please advise of dietaries) and related booklet.
Those registering as CPD, the workshop is worth 2 formal CPD points – in accordance with the Architectural Practice Act 2009 (SA).
Access and Parking
Getting There: You can only get to the Old Adelaide Gaol through Bonython Park. Enter Bonython Park from Port Rd and follow the signs.
Parking: Free parking is available for cars onsite at the Old Adelaide Gaol. Use the entry at Port Rd and Phillips St or the Bonython Park Playspace carpark.
