About

Experience an unforgettable evening where music, storytelling and lived experience come together in a contemporary operatic performance inspired by a remarkable true story.

Through live piano performance, narration and powerful visual storytelling, audiences are taken on an emotional journey through the life of Minh Duong, an international student whose future was forever changed by a violent assault while studying in Melbourne.

Drawing on the traditions of opera, Safe and Sound uses music to express what words alone cannot. Each musical movement reveals a chapter of Minh's journey—from tragedy and uncertainty to resilience, friendship, recovery and hope.

Performed by Adrian De Luca and Minh Duong, this unique Australian production blends lived experience with the transformative power of music, creating an evening that is both moving and inspiring.

Presented by We Are Australia Foundation in partnership with AusWISE.
